2013 Update...already

So I know it's only been 2 months and really I should have written this 2 weeks ago but oh we'll what can you do! So since we've last talked I've had 1 massive migraine, 3 seizures, 1 ambulance ride to the hospital, 3 days in the hospital, and 2 batches of homemade soup!

So this isn't that abnormal from any other migraine I've had but I haven't had a seizure in 13 years! And that freaks me out! Luckily my bf was here to call an ambulance, but I don't remember the ride to the hospital; just waking up in ER with a catheter in having to go pee! Let it be known I did not pee until they removed the damn thing and from there I was taken to a room where I spent 3 days with the doctors increasing my meds and telling me I have some very rare condition. I don't even remember the name of it, because frankly I think it's a bunch of BS!

So now I'm increasing my keppra slowly and waiting to see my neurologist mid march. Then I'll ask her about my med dosage because I think it's way too high! Actually it's more than I took trying to commit suicide years back! I'm also going to ask her about medical marijuana because it helped with my nausea this time around. It's kind of ironic because all through high school and college I was very anti-weed when all my friends were experimenting g and now I'm the one asking a doctor about it!

There is more to come about my job prospects soon but this is enough for one night! Sweet dreams

What A Year!

Happy New Year!  2012 was very momentous for me, my family and friends.  Here are just a few highlights.  My cousin went on his first tour to Afghanistan as a medic and came home for the holidays.  We finally feel like we can breath again and am so happy to see some positive changes in him that seem to have made him grow as a man.  I had a friend that tried to commit suicide midway through the year and since then he has been gotten the help he needed and seems to be doing great!  I'm just happy I could be there to support him through the tough time in his life.  I know how important it is from experience...hence the blog.  I, personally, have gotten the mental help I needed in 2011 and was able to move 400 miles away from home, get a job, get laid off from a job and hopefully find a new job in 2013.  I also applied to grad school again, but this time I actually completed all the applications and am just waiting to hear from the schools now.  And finally, at 5 am on Christmas morning I woke up to a thump from the extra bedroom where my 89 year old grandma was staying.  It turned out that she fell and broke her hip.  So Christmas was spent in the hospital ER until around 2pm until she was moved to a regular hospital room.  In the meantime the plan was to host Christmas dinner for our family friends.  Luckily we have great friends...they really are family... who picked up the slack and basically made dinner for us in our own home.  I left the hospital early to make some of the sides and let my mom just come home and enjoy the meal.  After the whole ordeal we were exhausted and my "auntie" basically forced us to open our christmas presents, which was wonderful.  I am so lucky to have these people in my life.  A great cousin who is brave enough to go to war, a friend that was able to talk to me about his problems, a grandma who helped raise me and hasn't been seriously hurt/sick until age 89!  I am such a lucky person!
